"I am the coordinator for the Sister's Keepers Doula Collective, and one of the Birth sisters. My husband and I have 6 beautiful children, 3 boys and 3 girls. I have lived in Charlottesville Va, my entire life. I love using my skills and knowledge to help serve the women in Charlottesville. My job/goal as a Birth Sister is to help women have the Birth that they want."
Growing up in a single mother household, I have always admired the strength of women and mothers. And it is through my childhood that I developed my love to nurture and support others. I have a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and Women, Gender & Sexuality Studies and all throughout my life I have found myself assisting in the growth and nurturing of infants, toddlers, and children. For 3 years I have worked with families, anticipating new life and wondering what their birth may be like. I provide prenatal and childbirth education and support families through pregnancy, postpartum, and parenting. It is through my work that I have been inspired to become a doula and continue supporting mothers/ families before, during, and after childbirth. I am dedicated to continue gaining knowledge about pregnancy, birth, and breastfeeding as I believe knowledge is key to deciding what birth experience is desired and dependable support is key to achieving that desired birth experience.
